Description

Handcrafted Wood-Fired Yunnan Highland Tea Bowl – “Ancient Hearth”

Forged in the 1300°C wood-fired kilns of Yunnan’s mist-shrouded highlands, this hand-thrown tea bowl is a living relic of the region’s millennia-old pottery traditions, forged by fire and earth.
Every curve is shaped by the potter’s fingers, its robust, rounded form echoing the earthenware jars that have stored Yunnan’s grains and teas for centuries. The rich amber-brown glaze, streaked with silvery ash deposits and tiny black specks, is a direct product of the wood-firing process—flames licking the clay, ash settling into crevices, creating a texture as rough and warm as the sun-baked village hearths of Yunnan. No two pieces are identical; each bears the unique fingerprint of the fire, the wind, and the artisan’s touch.
At just 5 cm tall and 100 ml capacity, it sits comfortably in the palm, its thick walls retaining heat perfectly for savoring Yunnan’s bold Pu’er or fragrant black teas. The wide, unglazed rim offers a raw, earthy texture that connects your lips directly to the clay, turning every sip into a ritual of grounding and connection to the highlands.
