The sky was not just blue, but a profound, shifting blend of rich amethyst, indigo, and pale lavender, all reflected perfectly on the water’s surface.

This handmade purple ceramic vase is not merely a vessel; it is that moment, captured in glaze and stone. Our artisans have meticulously hand-layered a specific glaze that creates a gradient effect, mirroring the exact colors of the Erhai Lake as day turns to night. The subtle, crackled finish of the glaze adds depth, evoking the sparkling ripples of the lake.
Creating this vase required patience and mastery. It was not cast from a mold but hand-thrown on a wheel, a technique our community has perfected over 700 years of pottery-making history in Yunnan. The sheer skill is embedded in its strong, balanced shoulders and elegant neck. Then comes the final, intense test.We fire these pieces to a scorching 1300°C in the kiln. This high temperature is crucial to vitrify the stoneware body, making it exceptionally durable, and to create the unique, vibrant saturation of the purple and blue glazes.
